At 8:00 a.m. this weekend Katja decided, quite impulsively I might add, to volunteer to sing the national anthem at her volleyball tournament in front of hundreds of people. This decision she made without any forethought or premeditation mere minutes before a recording of the Star Spangled Banner was to be played. Much to my surprise, without knowing if she was capable of carrying a tune, the tournament director acquiesed to her request. In a bit of a panic, I suggested that she practice at least once, quickly.... To this she replied, "Nah, I'm OK." Below is the result of her impromptu efforts:
After she sang, she switched gears and decided to play some volleyball afterall. Below is short video I put together for the girls of some of the tournament's highlights. They were undefeated! Since I put the video together, I only picked clips where Katja touched the ball. Look for #18!
After each victory the girls celebrate in their own way.
You just gotta luv our goofy, 12 year old girly-girls!!!

She sounded great! By the way you lead up to the video I was thinking it was going to be a train wreck...with her forgetting words, etc. Super job Katja! Enjoyed the volleyball clips.
